The Company

Blue Rider Design is a design and build company meant to produce high quality artistic pieces. We are interested in collaborating and hiring diverse, bold and mindful individuals. Nothing needs to be standard. Our goal is to create beautiful work that speaks to your personality, fits into the larger picture, and rebels against the throw away economy.

To help achieve our goals, Blue Rider plans to offset the carbon footprint of each piece of furniture via donations. We uplift our local community via local afterschool programs and our local bicycle organizations.

Be the change you want to see. We take that to heart at Blue Rider Design.

The Name

The history of art movements has always been one of pushing society forward. Art movements will always be about the deeper issues surrounding us. The images, sculptures, and other media are pieces of the larger puzzle: how do we move forward and what do we need to fix?

Punk may be a movement that started well beyond the moment when Manet, Monet, et al put a brush to canvas and created impressionism (plunging us into modern art), but Punk is very much what those artists would have been, their middle finger high in the air and aimed directly at the gate keepers… mohawks and all.

My larger vision and the vision of this company is to break down barriers, push us forward into the wild unknown, and enjoy the side long looks along the way.

Blue Rider Group was a group of artists formed in Germany before the first world war at the height of Germany’s influence on art and design. The movement uses bright color and non-figurative art. The image shown to the left is Blue Horse I by Franz Marc - a key member of the Blue Rider Group.

This name, Blue Rider Group, is the base of my company name because I prefer to identify with rule breakers than with the standard.

The Founder

I created Blue Rider Design to design pieces that are both functional and art. I chose to create a business versus acting as an artist to bring other designers onto my team (to share in their vision), to work with other artists and design companies around the world, and remove any limits on project size and project efficiency. My goal is to bring beautiful and inspiring pieces into this world regardless of complexity. I like to use clean lines, clean color, and smart proportionality to create pieces that inspire and engage. I’ve been currently exploring proportionality, shape and flow to create pieces that look purposeful.

Blue Rider Design is also licensed as a General Contractor in the state of Utah and capable of large installations. Whether the art can be labeled as ‘furniture,’ ‘installation’ or requires engineering approval, Blue Rider Design is capable of inspiring.
