Art in Progress - An Introduction

I’d like to properly introduce myself as the business owner. My name is Andrew, I go by Andy, and besides furniture design / building and construction projects I enjoy the outdoors, reading, experiencing the world via exploration and immersion, trying new things and working on myself along the way.

This journal will help connect my pieces, my thoughts, and my personality to you. In the future, I look forward to introducing you to a team of excellent builders, designers, dreamers and doers.

You’ll probably find that my current work and my journal entries don’t appear to align. I look forward to exploring more color, contrast and different materials in the near future. For those that love the soft subtleties of wood, never fear: I do too. My desire is to have different lines of furniture. Each line will have a cohesive vision, some more wild than others. All pieces will limited and serialized.

Music, music videos, and album covers are a strong theme in my journal entries as well. It’s an art form that I feel deeply connected with. I enjoy the fantasy that music can create. With a mostly five minute or shorter song duration, music and music videos allow us to easily go on an adventure that is perfectly unreal. Unlike fantasy movies or books, music and music art doesn’t need to have moments of realism. Each character and scene can be as extreme, playful and purely art as one wants; no character development or complicated plot direction required.
